Football shows support for breast cancer awareness during Saturday's Homecoming game

(Posted on October 27, 2009)

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College football team will be showing its support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a number of activities at this Saturday's Homecoming and Family Weekend football game against Johns Hopkins University at Knox Stadium.

Players will have a pink ribbon sticker on their helmets, while all the members of the coaching staff will be wearing pink ribbons on their shirts.

The Juniata College chapter of 'Colleges Against Cancer' will be selling t-shirts at the game, and collecting donations for the Relay for Life.

"We're happy to be able to both show our support for the fight against breast cancer, as well as help another student organization with their efforts to raise money for this fight," said Juniata head coach Carmen Felus.

All donations will go to Juniata's Relay for Life, which supports the American Cancer Society.
